For those interested, the Red Arrows will be doing a display for the Battle of Britain this Saturday in Gibraltar.

It will be at Europa Point which is the most southernly point of Gib by the light house.

It scheduled to start at 11.00am.

WORD OR WARNING:

They will be flying in and landing individually on Thursday and Friday.

Long queues are expected as they will close the runway for every individual landing.

You will be hours in the queue to get in/get out.

No info available when they fly back, but probably sunday.

i was going to come in but my saturday has been booked doing somthing in Spain. :(

The HMS Ark Royal visit/open day was excellent, so I know the Military always put a good show on.

Ive seen it several times before anyway via the Channel Islands and Farnbourgh.

Remember all the air display is FREE.

Dont get conned by anyone charging for the privilage.

The Dolphine boat that charges £30 will see exactly the same as on Europa Point except you will be bobbing up and down in the Bay.

Dont bother with the rip off taxi's either by going up the rock the best and only good view will be around the lighthouse totally free!!!!!!!!

I thought the dolphin boat had dropped their prices to a tenner per person?

The display was brilliant. The traffic to Europa Point was unbelievable.

They left (according to their web site) at something after 1pm.

But there are more disruptions this weekend with other aircraft stuff arriving/departing etc as Gib is celebrating Battle of Britain weekend.

Its the one in Marina bay,Gib.
Ive been on a few times, really lovely...you go right out over to Algeciras way...always seen dolphins..Im sure they also have a guarentee that if you dont see the dolphins you can go again for free...something like that..well worth paying full price for, even more worth it for a tenner. :D

When we are in UK we often see the Red Arrows practising, fantastic, always worth watching ...
Good for recruiting too !....
Great watching them landing and taking off, wish I could have seen the Gib. display...

I worked for a short while at the Gib. landing strip, ( 1960's), we operated an emergency landing strip for our carrier Sea Vixen aircraft, had arrestor wires across a section of the runway...only had two emergency landings in a few months...spent most of my time sun-bathing or in a bar in La Linea...what a life !

Last week I saw the recently restored Vulcan Bomber fly over me ( Lincolnshire ) ...very low...awesome....Also saw numerous WWII aircraft...sent a chill down my spine.....

Regards,
Gordon...

I would loved to have seen them too Beni, but unfortunatley having to make the choice between watching the red arrows or going to IKEA...you can guess which choice i made. :D
We watched them on the friday on the way to mercadona shopping and pulled over briefly to watch them until they disappeared.Amazing skills those pilots have eh!
I would love a ride in one,the ultimate thrill i think!
The pilots mustve had a nice change of scenery flying round the rock too.. :D

you would think that with their pilot's salaries and the current exchange rate they would have been better off shopping in Morrisons
