SKY Card PIN

Postby Acen » Tue May 04, 2010 8:07 am

Hi

Does anyone know how to get your PIN number for the sky card if you dont know it!!!

The PIN reminder does not work via interactive as you need to plug it into the phone!!!

Is the number contained in the numbers at the back??

Anyway of resetting it.

Thanks

Do these still work?
I thought they had all been replaced by the new white cards.
What do you want the PIN number for?
Can't remeber having ever been asked for it.

I lost mine a while back and managed to reset a new one on the sky website. But as someone said previously it might not work for the blue card anymore. Worth a try though!!

I should have explained.

I still have the blue card with the white one in the post sent by my brother in the UK.

I wanted to know about the PIN to get rid of the rediculous adult channels, which are neither adult nor entertaining but simply a money making excercise!!! (and its not something i want my young children to watch)

I would love to get tid of the religious and shopping channels by SKY wont allow that.

I only have FTV channels so its only really about 20 that are watchable.

Tried everything last night and nothing!!!!

Lets hope the new card will allow the parental control.

Thanks

I think, I might be wrong though, that the PIN number is 0000 unless you have set your own PIN number.

When/if Sky news, Fiver + Five US goes FTA Im going to get a Humax HD+ box and bin Sky.

But its too early for FTA HD channels and I do love Sky news, especially as we dont get Uk papers anymore!!! (no internet at home either).

i dont get Sky 3 at night (load of rubbish anyway and I dont watch VIVA or LFC TV).

SKY take the P@@@ with their EPG and FTV encryption. Freesat seems to be a poor alternative.

what do you all think about freesat!!

i just cant see that you get anothing more or better!!!!

I'm very pleased with freesat.
For all the footy I need. I watch champions league on ITV.If I have time a premership match on Spanish TV
And If I want to watch a film I pop down to the local video club at 1.50 euros a time

Sky News is fta. You have to add it via the non-freesat mode on a freesat box.

Don't know. One of the few satellite boxes I don't have is a freesat box. Perhaps markw can answer that. I installed one for my parents so may have a play next time I'm at their place. I don't expect it as the BBC interactive I think isn't working yet and you can't scan the streams in. The interactive stuff is on Sky News without a card with a sky box.

The red button can be used in the same way as SKY . Sky news can be received but I'm not certain if the interactive part of it can

So is the freesat HD better than standard Sky, particularly that there are hardly any free HD channels??

How does it affect us down here in spain??

I guess we all have the white Pace boxes due to the sensitive tunner pick up!!

does that mean freesat boxes are less sensitive???

Thanks

The general consensus on past threads has been that the freesat receivers are better that the Sky ones
