The Spanish Met office have warnings for rain etc but not for high winds.

Re: Weather Warning
The Spanish Weather Centre is forecasting the rain but for wind they are forecasting 0km/h tomorrow morning, 7km/h in the afternoon and 0km/h Wednesday.
Norwegian Weather Service are normally one of the more accurate forecasters and they are saying light breezes for Southern Spain.
Could do with the rain for the land, but we are flying tomorrow evening so strong winds are not wanted.

Re: Weather Warning
In my experience, if one gets thunder and hail you quite often get very sudden and violent winds, often driven ahead of hail storms. Perhaps that's what our local German forecaster is foreseeing?

Re: Weather Warning
I think he is the only one forecasting hail, but from my experience it wouldn't surprise me if there was hail. Sometimes the local forecasters are more accurate. We'll see.

Well that's just another personal weather station - I've got one as well!country boy wrote:http://www.meteomalaga.es
They are very good at reporting current weather from their instruments - just as I am.
When it comes to forecasting that's a different matter. All they can do is produce a forecast from readily available information from proper forecasting organisations such as the Spanish and UK Met offices.
Apart from the usual risk of locally strong winds under a thunderstorm and the possibility of hail, there are no forecasts at all for any strong winds.

Re: Weather Warning
I'd have to say that the 3 day forecast at www,malagaweather.com is usually spot on for us, but we're only about half a mile away. He needs another rain collector though, cos the other night it bucketed down for about 5 minutes, but he missed it. I must admit I always wondered how he does the 3 day forecast, I assumed there is some weird and wonderful formula based on changes in pressure and things, but maybe he just copies someone else's. (apostrophe police please ignore!) Here we often find that changes in weather are accompanied by high winds, but it doesn't take much to bring high winds here. I wish our neighbour had put his house name up before we bought ours - it's called cuatro vientos.

Re: Weather Warning
Well the AEMet warning overnight for Costa Granadina was way out - they said heavy rain - 30mm - we had 2mm and certainly no thunder.

You're lucky Sid. We haven't had a drop! Just a bit of wind yesterday evening. Still at least it is cool and cloudy and we can get some jobs done.
Re: Weather Warning
Murcia has had torrential rain, photos here

Re: Weather Warning
We cannot get anywhere all roads are blocked by rock falls, police road blocks due to unstable roads etc etc, in all 4 directions! When will Spain sort out its drainage issues?
