snake in the bed

Postby teresacraven » Thu Aug 19, 2010 9:47 am

Has anyone ever experienced being bitten by a snake in their bed? It happened to me last week, bitten on finger then shoulder. Woke in agony and it was on the sheet then slid away. Not very big and brownish. Finger sbadly swollen. Any idea what is was? Except a nightmare! :(

There are not many snakes in Spain that would do that, however I do know of one person who was 'bitten' by a viper, in similar circumstances.
.
If you receive any bites from any snakes or creepy crawlies it is always best to seek medical attention, the local chemist is usually the easiest place to go to and they are well trained and very helpful.
Be careful with toads also, not so much of a threat to humans but can be deadly to animals....

Has anyone ever determined what type of snake attacked Teresa?..

I've looked at loads of pictures of snakes but couldn't identify one from her description, perhaps it was a 'Foreigner'..arrived in a banana box or something...

Gordon.

We had a small (harmless) snake in our garage. I suspect it was looking for a mouse. It took a hell of a lot of catching as it could move very quickly. We released it well away from habitation.

What happened to yours? Do you have a rodent problem perhaps?

Well my system seems to be working, when in England earlier this year a scientist friend of mine said that as snakes have a very strong sense of smell I should put crushed up moth balls around the garden and thow into the rocks and they wont like that and they will move on, well I have not seen any this year so it seems to have worked as they are moving out of Andalucia !!!!
