La Concha mountain

Postby katy » Sat Sep 04, 2010 4:36 pm

Just been reading about a french guy who had to be rescued from the mountain yesterday! Must be crazy in the present heat. We climbed it about 10 years ago, paid a guide who helped carry extra water etc. I think it took us nearly about 3 hours more than the suggested time, gets a bit hairy at some points and I thought it was much harder coming back down. Nice feeling of achievement when you get there. We did the climb in late november.

Marbella/Ojen/Istan, not sure that is tecnically a "mountain" though , but it certainly feels like it on the way up !!!!

how many metres does a hill have before it becomes a mountain? I imagime there is a certain height over which it is called a mountain, la concha is about 1200m

1200mtrs is definately a mountain. It sounds like a nice walk.
I was on top of El Fuerte (again) this morning. Its only 1000mtrs but you feel like you have climbed a mountain.
I think I'll try La Concha if I'm down that way again.

Ach, thats just terminology; a walk, a hike , a climb, a trek, you know what I mean. After todays walk/hike/trek/climb I can tell you that anything over 300 meters is an epic.

I'm so unfit its unreal and I have a walking program starting in 3 weeks where I'll be hiking three times a week, every week from October to next May.

I'll either be fit or dead or dead fit !!!!
