Pound euro rate
Pound euro rate
wtf has happened? Last month I managed (albeit for one day only) to get €1.23. Now it's struggling to hit €1.17.

Re: Pound euro rate
Talk of double dip recession in UK and euro bonds released on to international markets and sold better than anticipated indicating faith in the euro apparently.
Personally I think we will need to wait until after the cuts are announced for sterling to rise again

Re: Pound euro rate
Just bought some euros for October at the great rate of 1.25 free delivery on the date I choose.
Not particularly going anywhere but looking at the way things are going, don't think I can go wrong.

Re: Pound euro rate
a guy in the pub, give him pounds now and he´ll promise free delivery of the euros on the date you choose, he´ll give more than 1.25 if you ask nicely

It will be interesting to see if you actually get that as it hasn't been that high in the last 12 months.concorde wrote:Just bought some euros for October at the great rate of 1.25 free delivery on the date I choose. .

Sid, I'd previously posted about them here.

There's no catch and they have a good reputation.
I just happened to check on their site last night and jumped at their offer.

Try this site, a link from Martins Money Tips
Travelmoneymax.com.
gives you the best rates from loads of different places.
Crown Currency is at the top.
No, I'm not on commision from them, however, if I recommend a friend I do get a pot of clotted cream
Well, they are based in Cornwall

Re: Pound euro rate
Interesting. I've just emailed them to enquire if they can do currency transfers to Spain.
Brian.
Re: Pound euro rate
Hi rafiki, someone else had asked that but I can't see anywhere on their site if they do, just cash or travellers cheques to U.K. addresses.
I have put my name down with them as sometimes they get unsold currency for some reason and you can buy it at a good rate. Don't think it'll be euros though, probably some strange currency from a far flung country I'm never going to.

Re: Pound euro rate
Perhaps there's a perfectly logical explanation for their rates structure but I can't see it and that makes me very wary...
Brian.
Re: Pound euro rate
rafiki, just found this on their site.
• Credit Transfers (UK or International) - We can arrange to transfer the money directly into your bank account by credit transfer. For international credit transfers, there will be an additional charge which can vary but you will be informed of this before the transaction takes place. Also please note that electronic transfers can only be taken over the phone.
You can ring them to chat about any concerns you may have.

Re: Pound euro rate
Crown Currency have been around for a number of years.
They have a sister company that handles transfers to overseas bank accounts, but when I looked at them a year or so ago they were considerably more expensive than XEtrade.com. The cash/travellers cheque deals were good though.

I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!

Re: Pound euro rate
That's a 6% rise in the value of Sterling v Euro on week commencing 25/10 (3.5% vs USD), and then a drop back to the 1.16's the following week. Why, I wonderrafiki wrote:Delivery Between EUR USD AUD NZD CAD
