BBC Radio Downloader
I am sure others will already have found this wonderful piece of open source software but I thought I would share it anyway as I haven't seen it mentioned.
I like to record old comedy programmes on Radio 7 (Hancock's Half Hour, Yes Minister, Navy Lark, etc) to replay on my car radio but until now I have had to record them in real time. Radio Downloader enables you to download the programme in a minute or so in the same as if you were downloading a podcast.
Download from the developer's site here:

or directly from Sourceforge:

Re: BBC Radio Downloader
A gem of a program
I've just downloaded JohnnieWalker's 'sounds of the seventies' in 5 minutes. It used to take two hours in real time.
Thank you

Re: BBC Radio Downloader
Yes but this will be an MP3 file and a two hour MP3 should only be about 120MB so it should fit onto a CD easily. I can't really help with this as I download my programmes directly onto an SD card.
The radio in my other car hasn't got an SD reader so I use one of these:

Sorry but it's in Portuguese.
Found it in Spanish now:

Re: BBC Radio Downloader
Is anyone else who uses Radio Downloader having trouble locating programmes alphabetically? I get the first 50 then when I try to get more I receive an error message. I can locate them using the 'Genre' feature and I think the problem has only manifested itself since the BBC revamped the iPlayer when they revived the alphabetical search facility.
I have checked for an update to the program but it is still version 0.18 which is the one I have.

Re: BBC Radio Downloader
There does seem to be a problem with this...I have used the subscription tab to download certain programmes automatically so I'm not really affected but I would imagine that there'll be an update to solve this bug pretty soon.

Re: BBC Radio Downloader
Could someone who has Radio Downloader installed on their computer please check to see if you are able to download Dad's Army. I am getting an error although I am able to download other programmes. There was a problem with the audio on this programme on Listen Again and although that seems to have been fixed I am still getting an error trying to download it.
