They are "supposed" to be cracking down, that's basically what the "Ley Sinde" is all about. It's been in all the Spanish papers, I think it was defeated just before Christmas, but with some tweaking, seems it should be passed soon. I'm not into films, but if you google something like "bajar/descargar peliculas gratis" you'll get hundreds of sites supposedly legal and free. A friend of mine uses one, (not surprisingly she's Spanish) but I cannot remember the name, if it comes to me, I'll post it.

In Spain it's so cheap to rent videos,I wouldn't bother. By paying in advance I pay around 1.50 euros or less for two nights and this includes Blu-ray.Slightly older titles can be rented 2x1.

Rent it, copy it, take it back. Far better than risking downloading a virus along with the film!

I use this site, extremely reliable and value for money:
http://www.media-members.com/en/movies.html
Three that we have down loaded recently: Casablanca, African Queen and West Side Story; all told, including cost of Tesco DVD+R discs, less than 6 euros all in. Who cares what's not on the Telly

Me too. If you use a reputable site and torrent download programme you shouldn't have any problems.

http://www.cinetube.es/peliculas/ has films and series. Ignore messages, pop up and other adverts and look for for films or shows with a Spanish flag with a S in it (English with Spanish subtitles) otherwise they are dubbed/made in Spanish only.

Re: Down loading films from the Internet
i know the spanish authorities are expected to tighten Illegal down loads in the same way as the UK are .... BUT
In the UK they have your details that can be traced through your assigned IP address at the time of the down load associated with your account ID (usually your email adress) so they can get you ...!
In spain ... the last link of the ID chain is missing - all telefonicas Account IDs are the same ...adslppp@telefonicanetpa and pasword adslppp.... I cant see how they can trace the missing link. So how can they get you ...?
As I see it ADSLl conection is identified by IP address and not telephone number when in use . The MAC address of your router originally suplied can be changed, or a new router etc
just a thought.

Yes, but the IP address can be linked back to the phone number assigned that IP address at the time.Martin Page wrote: As I see it ADSLl conection is identified by IP address and not telephone number when in use .

I assume they can still trace you if your internet acces is via a wireless link i.e. no landline.
I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!
