Im a mod on a few forums here in Ireland. Is this poll being run by the site owners ? If not then why would they want/ let users select a mod ? :?:

I dont recall reading about this, which thread is it in please?

Also do we know if Cid and Beach want to be mods should the positions arise?

Personally I think that I might have to abstain from voting,I don't really want to join the 'Get the Dutchman Gang'.
After all he has been posting for awhile now and if the Admin of A.Com wanted to get rid of him then surely he would be now long gone :?:

In fact...May I suggest that the powers that be would have ensured that he would have now 'Popped His Clogs' ....

Gordon the Abstainer....

As this is a privately owned website and forum, I don't see the point of this thread, as the member "Andalucia" runs the forum, and seems to be doing a pretty good job.
Is this forum a democratic organisation - I think not!
I am not voting.

It's nothing to do with Get the Dutchman.
But when someone blatantly flouts the no advertising rule, answers questions with irrelevant answers or wrong answers that can cost the OP money then something needs to be done to stop him.

Gerry,
I really do see where you and the other members are coming from, however I really think that it is up to the site owners to decide if they don't want him or any other person to post on their site, and if you disapprove of the content then all you have to do is press the appropriate button and admin can then take whatever action is deemed necessary by them.....

Sorry to disagree with most other 'regulars', but I'm also entitled to my opinion, and I really do not see the need for a 'Neighbourhood Watch' approach to this situation, and I always like to look at both sides of the coin, before I form an opinion.
I can't make any comment about the correctness of any advice being offered re. satellite or telecoms, as I personally have very little interest or knowledge, however if I was going to purchase items for a serious amount of money, then I would certainly be looking at getting second and third opinions....and asking for discounts !.. :) ..

Anyway I've enjoyed the debate...

Regards,
Gordon...

Various people are posting as if they can mind read what Admin are thinking but the reality is Admin haven't been present on these boards for a long time and clearly the forum isn't exactly top of their priority list.

You only have to look at the number of people that reported that idiots spam and the lack of any resolution to see Admin are have gone AWOL.

Considering his efforts on the forum break a number of key rules I doubt Admin have seen it and decided to do nothing.

It's far more likely Andulucia.com don't really view the forum as all that important to their business plans and have left it to it's own devices with the obvious results.

I never claimed to be able to mind read but at the same time I'm not the one kidding myself by thinking Admin are ever present and active on the forum when it's clear they're not.

Or maybe they are choosing to ignore this 'problem' because it puts 'Bums on Seats' ?

I don't have a clue about this or who the Dutchman is, my feeling is that at the end of the day this company is privately owned and actually we are all guests here, perhaps others think differently personally I don't really care.
