Re: hand luggage ?
None. I've taken laptops, sky boxes, routers, cables, kitchen sink you name it through security.

It must have been a small kitchen sink to fit in hand luggage.

Yep, no problem. I've also brought a printer, tower PC, laptop etc in hand baggage. They may want to see it but never been stopped from taking it.
I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!

I got stopped at security in Newquay airport for taking some cable through. They told me that regulations stated that it was prohibited as was string unless you tied a kite on the end of it. (this is honestly true)

Must have been a jobsworth. I always travel with my phone charger and laptop charger in my hand luggage and have never had a problem.v.dubber wrote:I got stopped at security in Newquay airport for taking some cable through. That's the Government regulations, which are minimum requirements. Airports are at liberty to be stricter if they wish as long as they pass the Govgernment tests. For example, some airports will ask more people to remove their shoes than others.annfoto wrote:v.dubber wrote:Hand luggage rules here: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/TravelAndTr ... /DG_078179
