Re: Paper Bricks
Yes, they work well, brown cardboard works best. Leave it to soak overnight in a big bucket and make your logs the next day. Leave them out in the sun to dry.

There's plenty of videos on YouTube of people making and using them.

Re: Paper Bricks
Can anyone tell me if these are ok to use in wood-burners?
Re: Paper Bricks
We use them in ours. Both in the uk and spain. Also wooden pallets sawn up burn really well and so hot that auto fan kicks in very quickly.

If your down by the beach it's worth picking up drift wood as well. You are also cleaning the beach up

Re: Paper Bricks
Many, many years ago, on the North East coast, I remember people used to collect sea coal, not sure if it's still done.
Not the warmest stuff to burn as I recall and every now and then it exploded.
We always had a fireguard up when that stuff was burned otherwise you would have ended up with embedded shrapnel, actually not dissimilar to our local bar in the chestnut season.
Not sure if it was the salt water in it or some twerp was putting stones in to make up the weight.
Thinking about it, we did burn quite a bit of old furniture that was in the cellar of the house when we bought it. Waste not, want not.

I'm always disappointed when a liar's pants don't actually catch on fire.
