Courier collection from UK to Spain?

I have some flat-packed furniture I need to move UK-Spain. The supplier is quoting what seems to me a very high price for delivery. Has anyone been able to arrange courier collection themselves for collection UK and delivery to Spain ?

indeed they come highly recommended.

ive had 3? 4? parcels delivered by them now, all for a quarter the price i was quoted by others.

a pair of tyres, a few boxes, a gearbox !! all arrived quicker than quoted for a bargin price.

for example, compare the prices of www.interparcel.com with those on www.ecoparcel.eu - 50 / 60 / 95 pounds for 8kg .. compared to 10 pounds ive just paid on ecoparcel.


they do up to 35kg boxed and bigger on pallets.

its a shame im not on commission

Thanks both. I just put in the estimated shipping dimensions and weight to check Europarcels. Crikey if the package were double my estimates it would be a fraction of the rip-off price I have been quoted by the supplier. Now to see if there will be some excuse as to why they can't release goods to other couriers )

We have been using Parcels2Go for ages and 25Kg works out to be about £29, door to door

ecoparcel price is 15.40 EUR for 7 day delivery london to malaga ... thats about 12,75 pounds - half the price you´ve been paying.

Weight isn't the only consideration.
The volumetric weight, derived from the dimensions of the package are often of more importance.
I guess that flat pack furniture might be oversize due to it's dimensions.

parcel was collected at 2pm tuesday, it was delivered saturday morning at 10am, just 92 hours later - half the time they quoted

Me too Spanish Lad. Can't fault them and now send stuff out before me and know how long til delivery.
Always only 3 or 4 days and once said a damaged parcel so I thought the worse. When it came they had taped up the corner as the original Tesco flat pack had a tiny tear in it (that was probably there before it went).

As bit off topic but, Can anybody tell me why a lot of companies who sell stuff say they will not post to certain countries, even though they get the payments first? I get this problem a lot and just don´t understand it

i get this alot on ebay, even when ive proved to them that postage is cheap and i´d even pay their inflated prices. i guess they just dont want to chance the stuff getting broken / going missing ?

Our packages were collected from UK Monday and delivered Wednesday. Two large boxes @ 24kg each total cost 30€. The tracking system doesn't bear any relation to reality though. One of the parcels I'm looking at here is leaving UK tonight.

I want to send a couple of boxes from Spain to the UK each month. All the couriers/carriers I've contacted are horrendously expensive.
