Paradores

Postby silver » Mon Sep 26, 2005 7:49 am

One of the best Paradores (mainly Historic buildings reformed to hotels) is Hostal de los Reyes Católicos in Santiago de Compostela is one of the oldest hotels in Spain. It is also one of the country's most beautiful buildings with four outstanding cloisters inside, and touches from the gothic, rennaissance and barroque periods. Luxurious bedrooms and bathrooms, elegant lounges, beautiful long halls and interior patios, high arches, furniture and other articles on display from hundreds of years ago.

That must be a cut and paste Silver, no spelling mistakes! :D Never been there, but I understand it is quite impressive. Also heard from friends that have been to Santiago, that it can be a grey, rainy place a lot of the time, and because of the Camino, it's always full of peregrinos. One friend loved it, another found it all too touristy! :(

Yeh cut and paste.. ..I don't hide the fact that I cant spell and have apologized many times..its not really relevant...and I´m not alone others too have this problem...Rosey
However I can spot a sales pitch when I see one.
and you did it so well that its only fair to offer an alternative...just in case there is "no room at the inn"
Throughout Spain, we are rather spoilt for choice, with good hotels. rural hostels and paradores.

Thats known as a "typo" Silver.
Like for instance if I typed Sliver instead of Silver, that would be a typo rather than a spelling mistake 8)

Why is that strange Silver? I also live in Marbella, and have stayed in Marbella Club, Puente Romano, Don Carlos, El Oceano, Guadalpin and Castillo de Monda. You don't have to make a 100km journey to sty in an Hotel.
P.S. No they are not typos, they are just a means of trying to be rude.

Not sure why you would think it's a sales pitch, but there again, I don't really care too much what you think, you're one sad man. I was originally chastised for not volunteering the information, so I'm in a no win situation. Perhaps with the benefit of your superior knowledge, you could explain to us lesser mortals, what benefits I'm likely to gain from relating my experiences of that particular hotel. Perhaps the hotel management might just pass by here and read this, and offer me a free fortnight there? We'll be staying in Andalucia from this week, in a few different hotels, so perhaps I can do a sales pitch for them on my return, and gain whatever mysterious, fiscal benefits you seem to think I'm looking for.

That wasn't a sales pitch, I asked if anyone knew of the place and Frank did.
Thanks Katy! What a strange man! ;-)

Trying to get that knitting needle down inside of his cast to scratch the annoying itch has probably made him irritable.

Being an annoying itch has made him an expert on everything.

You will find that "stars" are in themselves, a recognizable, international recommendation.

No, I'm sorry to say, I haven't! We've mainly kept to Andalucia, with the odd foray into The Costa Blanca, although I have to say, it's some years since we have been there. Would never go back to the Torrevieja area again. We went to Jávea a few times, but there's not many other places I like in that area. (We lasted 20 mins in Benidorm!)

You could be right, but others, like me, have been known to use stain glass.

Put "stainglass window" into google and see how hits you get.

:o suprised

No! Should I be? You might not be able to spell too well, but I credited you with sufficient intelligence to able to click on a link.

Not sure if you use Trip Advisor, but that's ok for recommendations. One here picked at randow, gets good reviews.

A lot of the reviews are by Americans, and if they don't like it, they say so! :D
