Does anyone know if it is possible to get a pre paid deal for a smart phone? I don't want a contract just to use a smart phone in Spain for three months or so.
A friend in Germany says it is possible to by pre paid cards and you can also buy internet flat rates limited to a certain amounts of days. It is possible there to order and upload via internet.
Anyone know of similar deals in Spain?

Re: Prepaid smart phone
Vodafone do. I would strongly suggest that all the major suppliers do, although i couldn't be bothered to look at their websites.

Thanks Gerry...as a busy working Mum I don't have much time to trawl sites either which is why I posted. So if anyone has direct experience of good value pre paid cards for smart phones (that include good rates for internet downloads-the ones I have looked at so far are very expensive) I would appreciate advice.
Re: Prepaid smart phone
If you want to use your smart phone for internet access it is via the G3/ GPRS/ mobile phone network.
There are only 4 mobile network operators in Spain:-
Vodafone
Orange
Movistar
Yoigo
But Yoigo uses Movistar where they don't have coverage.
There are many more "operators" but the just use the 3 main operators
networks.
So even if company xxx offers a good deal, price wise, there is little
point using them if there isn't good coverage from the network they use.
So, first find which of the 3 major networks give good coverage then
look around for the best deal on that network.
My smart phone is on Vodafone, good signal where I live but there are a few places a regularly go to where the signal is very iffy.

Do you find it doesn't work in the local bar if you call in for a quiet snifter?
