Working while claiming benefit

Does anyone know if you are allowed to work any number of hours while receiving unemployment benefit and if so, how many?

I know you can in the Uk, but I'm wondering if it is the same here.

There are various schemes and back to work initiatives here that allow you to do this officially, and some that exempt a new employer from paying your social security for the first 6 months - your local job centre here should be able to help you

Well they should, but I've already been given incorrect information from them.

My daughter became unemployed late last year, she had claimed two months unemployment benefit, she got a part time job and for the next 2 months she (unexpectadly) received benefit that made her income up to what she would have recieved if she had not been working. Hope this makes sense, this was in Sevilla, just in case that makes a difference!
