UVPC Door.

Postby allgram » Mon Jul 02, 2012 7:25 am

Hi, My O.H. has seen a neighbours new UVPC door to her upstairs terrace and is now fairly keen that we should have one, at the moment we have a corrugated metal one with one big metal bolt on the side now my thoughts are, will the plastic door warp in the heat and will it discolour in the sun also how secure are they ? Thank you. :?:

Been shopping around for these, Leroys in Malaga have white metal and plastic pvc doors/windows best price we have found so far, good quality too.

They won't warp and as long as it's got multipoint locking it's pretty secure, but don't get one with a glass window!

i did a project about 2 or 3 years ago and the advice given to me was to use white coated aluminium
(pvc coating i think) anyway it worked well and it is possible this is what your neighbour has as it looks like pvc.

hope this helps

PVC does tend to break down with time ... it goes all chalky on the surface

Hello, Thank you for your advice and views, we (O.H.) have decided that our metal door is as good as ever and plastic and glass were not the way to go.
Thanks.
