Electronic cigarettes

Postby Marina » Wed Nov 28, 2012 10:23 pm

Has anyone used these?

My son has asked for one for Christmas and a quick Google throws up lots of affiliate sites. I would rather have a recommendation from someone who has used them.

Nothing to do with Andalucia, but I do need to buy from somewhere that will ship here.

My wife puffs away on one when in restaurants etc and she seem's happy enough with it.
But she is or rather was blonde!

Thanks. The Intellicig looks as good as any, except he has now said he wants a blue or green tip.

I hadn't realised how complicated it all is.

Hi Marina,

If your son is trying to give up smoking, in addition to the electronic ciggy, consider buying him Alan Carr's book, Easy Way to Stop Smoking. http://allencarr.com/

It worked for me some years ago, and also for a number of friends that I passed it onto.

Best wishes,
Steve

Thank you. I've been looking for stocking fillers so that book is definitely going to be one of them.In fact I'm going to buy all three kids a copy each.
:D
It would seem from what I've read that the e cigs on sale in shops are the disposable type and I've heard that they are not always as good as the refillable, rechargeable ones. I could be wrong but I'm thinking that, as with many things, you get what you pay for. In this case, I want to be sure of getting good product that will help him. For instance, I've read that some need to be primed with a few puffs, before you get a vapour hit and others give the hit immediately.

Much as I'm on an economy drive at the moment, I don't mind spending on this as if it helps him, it may also inspire his brother and sister to give up.

Personally, I don't believe that cutting down on nicotine is the best way to do it. Far better to go cold turkey as the nicotine will completely leave the system in three days. You then only need to tackle the habit. These cigs don't seem to tackle either the nicotine addiction or the habit, but if that's the way he feels he wants to go, then I'm all for it.

Thats exactly what the books helps to achieve.

Using one of these things did not help my wife give up smoking at all I think you really want to stop
for anything to be of use. Now she "lights up" when in no smoking areas.

I stopped smoking for 18months, used the library copy of a video by Alan Carr.
At no time did he tell me to stop smoking, however the next day I did, just like that, while my friend struggled and failed with patches.

Probably some sort of hypnotic subliminal message, much easier than reading the book.

Trouble was it was so easy to give up, I reckoned I could do it anytime I liked, lasted 18 months.
must see if i can get hold of that video/dvd

I don't really think the ecigs will help, but it's a step along the way. I just want to encourage him to try.

I've ordered the books. I see he also has weight loss books, so I've treated myself too. :D

Didn't work for me.

The hypnotist started out by telling me that my arms and legs were becoming heavy. That was fine. Then he told me I couldn't lift my leg. That was when my argumentative side kicked in and I just had to lift it. We kind of went down hill from there.

Obviously picked the wrong one... I don't remember much at all just that I've never even thought about smoking since. I think you need a specialist.
