I think Marina posted something like this, if you search her posts you may find it.
No soporto ver la casa sucia, ahora mismo me levanto y apago la luz.

We have used this firm http://www.nblawyers.es/ingles.htm - Jose Miguel Bascones does the 'day to day' stuff, & Juana Navas does the litigation. They both speak good english, and have been very helpful to us in the past (tho not needed them for several years now :D ).

Thoroughly recommend them

We are trying to get the tax liability on our house reduced in order to prevent the same thing happening to purchasers among other things.

The lawyer dealing with it is a guy called Nacho who is based in Nerja. I'm sorry, I don't have his surname or contact details, but you would be able to get them through Andrew at Dream Properties, Nerja.

You will need to have an official valuation carried out on the property and use it along with your purchase contract. Your lawyer should be able to arrange for the valuation.

The report on our valuation should be done this week and I've been told it will take around a month once it has been submitted.

Good luck. It's a dreadful situation.

Good luck in your fight.

I wonder how many other people this happens to and how they get on?

Here's another recommended lawyer (based in Granada). We used him to sell our house, it was very complicated as all the papers were wrong, he got them all updated for us. Very complicated but he carried it out flawlessly. He also told us the lowest price we could accept for our house without this scenario happening. He is English but has worked in Spain for years and is bi-lingual. Thoroughly recommended.

If you use him, tell him that Belinda from Yegen recommended him.

Probably no help , but this is the law on embargo's. It isn't usually followed correctly by any official body. I.E. you can't take money from anyone who has no income. There are strict criteria about amounts.

When you do get a solicitor make sure he knows what can & can't be done.
