Re: Any suggestions for feeding a 5 week old puppy?
We hospital visited Laura at the vets this morning, she stood up and wagged her tail, then fell over, her little leg has a drip thing attached and it unbalances her.
She is still making noises as she breathes. The vet said she is still not eating I have given her a talking to and told her to eat and that lots of folk are asking after her.
Back visiting tomorrow.

Your dedication is amazing! I hope the poor little thing pulls through.
I am still struggling to love our pups even though they are getting to better behaved. OH of course thinks the sun shines out of them so I have to learn to live with them and when they are asleep I almost like them .
I need a friend who feels like I do about dogs so I could go and have a coffee/glass of wine and unburden but Thank God I have you lot who I know don't feel like I do but you have been a great support to me.
They are growing and Pepe is now 8kg and Lola is 5kg she is never going to be a big dog.

Laura died this morning. We gave her a chance, but sadly it was not to be.

You did all you could for her. So sad but some things are not to be . Take comfort in your selfless actions of doing all you could and look after the dogs you have. I'm sure they will appreciate having you to themselves again.
Big hugs to you for all you've done.

Well, you have to ask yourself "Did I do my best for the pup"?
I think we all know the answer.
You couldn't do any more or have tried harder.

So sorry to hear that Oliveview. Sometimes despite our best efforts, it's just not meant to be
You certainly did all you could.

I am so sorry to hear that. At least you know that you did everything possible.

I've been following this story from the start, hoping for the best & fearing the worst.
So sad to hear she didn't make it. You gave her a chance and could not have done any more.
God bless you.

What a shame. You tried your best-again. I was hoping there would be a better ending for you this time. At least you know you couldn't have done anything more.

Today a lady found a Podenco dog with 10 newborn pups, all in the olive grove alone, no food, nothing. So sad

Like other posters I've been following your updates with trepidation.
You certainly did everything you could for Laura and I'm so sorry that she didn't make it but I'm glad you took photos.

I have been too scared to log on and read the update as I was full of hope. I am so sorry but very proud of you too. I hope you take some comfort from how hard you tried to save Laura - you couldn't have done any more x

Re: Any suggestions for feeding a 5 week old puppy?
Thanks for all your encouragement and hopes
I was due back to the refuge working today, but yesterday I bent over to empty my neighbours washing machine (he is disabled) and my back ´went´ so no refuge for me for a week or so Had I not gone out in search of an injured galgo dog in the campo by our house and the neighbour not seen me I would not have been called to hang out his washing, so I am blaming my sore back on the galgo - who ran off. For a dog with what looked like a broken front leg it ran off fast!
