Quad Bike

Postby Footprint » Thu Apr 04, 2013 2:34 pm

Hi

When purchasing a quad bike is it important to buy one with documentation? I've seen several that do not. I understand that if you want to use it on the road - even the campo tracks - it would need to be road legal. What about if only using on your own land?

Cheers
You can spend, minutes, hours, days, weeks or even months over-analyzing a situation; trying to put the pieces together, justifying what could've, would've happened - or you can just leave the pieces on the floor and move the f**k on.

If it is to be used on any public road or track it must be road legal and has a normal registration plate. If it to be used on private land and tracks then it should have a red registration plate but it should also have legal paperwork.

Red plate can also be used on the road as well, as long as it is itv and insured.

Ok thank you. So basically - no paperwork/illegal - walk away. That's all I needed to know.

Cheers

In addition if it has the red agricultural plates then it is one person only , whereas normal plats can be with passengers.

Your documents will tell you number of persons, normally one but do know of two seaters.

Unfortunately an old Kawasaki 4x4 seems to be as rare as hen's teeth
