Selling Property (I know it's not a good time but....)
Hi folks,
I don't want to do it but I simply can't afford to keep the apartment I inherited from my parents and although it will break my heart, I have to (try to) sell . Could someone please tell me where I would even start and what costs are involved?
Thanks in advance,
Bugs

How about considering a long-term rent first until the market picks up?

Hi Mowser,
It's certainly an idea but to be honest, I don't think it's for me. Appreciate your response though

Isn't Miro trying to sell up? (could be wrong). He's in Torremolinos, I should think he'd know all about the local market.

Yes. It's basically stuffed. The biggest problem is the negativity of the few remaining local estate agents. It's as if they've given up the will to live, but then they never really made any effort, they just rode the wave of the boom. I suspect those that survived the crash don't really need to work anyway.
All you can do is ask them to list it for you and hope. There's no cost to you until they find a buyer, then they typically charge 3 or 4% commission.

Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often

"long estabished and trustworthy" - one of those comments is true but not both.

Gissa clue Aunty.
If it's a bad time to sell, it must be a good time to buy. so why aren't hordes of northern europeans buying property in Spain.

Is it because the xenophobic fascists in the government are doing everything possible to discourage them?

It was just a question. Maybe it's because the weather has been crap lately.

Prices here have picked up. A house needing total renovation just sold for €120,000.anyroads wrote:"so why aren't hordes of northern europeans buying property in Spain"

There was a "licencia de obra" passed at a cost of €150,000.
Total = €270,000 for a 60m2 floor area.
