Anyone going to any of the above in the next few weeks could you price me some 16mm or 25mm irrigation pipe ideally 100 m lengths. Been on leroys web site and they give the prices but not the lengths. Would be very gratefull. Thanks.

Too late! Just been to Leroy Merlin. Sorry. Will be in there again next week so will check it out for you if no-one else has in the meantime.
You can spend, minutes, hours, days, weeks or even months over-analyzing a situation; trying to put the pieces together, justifying what could've, would've happened - or you can just leave the pieces on the floor and move the f**k on.

May I suggest you also check out prices at Tuvesa on the poligono in Velez, and other local suppliers? It could be cheaper to pay even a little more and save the fuel/wear&tear of a trip to the big city!

Thanks pete will give them a visit. I think I will need pipe that is drinking water standard if you know what I mean as the pipe is for a solar water heater project I have in mind. We already use the black bucket/ bin with a lid on and can get good temperatures from that but I have another idea from YouTube using the pipe. This can also be used as a swimmimg pool heater to lengthen the use of small pools. Anyone needs any details just ask. 8)

Don't most people use antifreeze, rather than water, in their SHW heat exchangers. That way the tubes won't freeze up and split in cold weather.

Drinking water piping has a blue line along its length, and there are 2 grades of wall thickness, as well as a range of overall diameters. I recommend that you use the best quality, as we have had to replace several sections of the cheap stuff our builder put in, which sprang leaks for no obvious reason despite it being totally buried.
I installed new piping but ran it inside some of the red outer casing that is used for electrical cables, making it easy to remove and replace if it goes again - would be really bad under a tiled pool surround!

Thanks again pete will keep all you have said in mind.

Pete_i my idea is not for a commercial solar water heater with evacuated tubes but is easily made. Do a search on
YouTube search (solar water heater desertsun02) he has some good DIY projects.
