Scirroco bar

Postby Campo Steve » Wed Jul 24, 2013 7:00 am

We are going to a function at the weekend. Unfortunately the only directions we have are that it is is at Scirrocos, Puente Don Manuel. Not sure where Scirrocos is but think it may be at Chiringuito Antonios where the Friday market is held. Can anyone confirm that, or point me in the right direction!

If you go via the "badlands" road off the junction near Los Gallegos, you can admire the ornate and no doubt expensive marble and glass enclosure, honouring some saint or another, that has just been built over some weeks with Cutar's money (?) - a wonderful use of funds in these straitened times.
It merely reinforces my loathing of anything to do with superstitions and religions of all kinds!

If its the Axarquia Animals function you are attending at Scirroccos Stever we will see you there!

The entrance to Sciroccos is on the right hand side of the Chiringuito Antonio car park - apply plenty of Insect Repellant before you go as it is a notorious breeding ground for Mossies.

See you there Brenda. Looking out the insect repellant now. We seem to be getting bitten a bit at the moment although not sure it as mossies as my wife normally takes a skin reaction to mossie bites. At the moment she is lumpy and itchy.

Volunteers are still needed for the event. Free tickets for anyone who volunteers, plus a friend.

Did you go Brenda? Didn't see you but then I didn't know who to look out for! Did you get caught by my wife to buy tombola tickets. She sold loads.

Who is your wife? I would guess she was on the second shift. I did the first which was pretty quiet, so glad to hear she sold loads! :)

PM sent Marina. My wife didn't do a shift but took the box round during at about 7.30 pm so I guess that was the second shift. I think it was an Australian band playing at the time.

Early on it was quiet but it did get busier. Hope it all raised plenty for AOAR.

We were there early afternoon as one of our friends suddenly announced that he ahd an early start this morning so would prefer to have an early night.

Saw the first 3 singers / groups - especially enjoyed Billy Preacher and thought that Ella had a very sweet voice (can´t have been easy for a young girl to be first up on stage).

Bought several sets of Tombola Tickets but didn´t win anything - not that I expected to as I can´t even win an arguement let alone a prize LOL!

Very quiet when we were there so hope it got busier later and that a lot of money was raised.

Marina. Did you and your hubby have a black dog with you? If so then my wife and I did meet you. Tell your husband to stay strong. You have enough dogs LOL!
