A really nice idea and I did it in the year that I lived in Spain.
You do have to try and detatch yourself from the heartache you see though but the rewards are high when one of your favourites gets a good home.
G o for it!

I do hope you find a suitable place for yourself and your wife to volunteer at - you can rest assured that you will be welcomed with open arms and will have as much work to keep you occupied as you can put up with - volunteers are so sorely needed, and on the whole with rare exceptions the Spanish are just not up to it ... Just a shame you are in the Coin area ... fancy a move to Huelva province? We desperately need help over here ... as does Oliveview near Sevilla ... Ah well - go for it and you will find it very rewarding.
Cheers

I volunteered at ACE in Mijas Costa.
Met some really nice people (Mostly English) and helped many dogs and cats.

I expect Torrox is too far for you to travel but Tail Torrox could always do with help.
I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!

Good for you Terry. There is an animal charity dogs shop in La Trocha, Coin at the ground floor as you go in. I am sure they will be able to point you in the right direction. I know just now they are also desperate for old blankets and towels.

The link I posted is for an animal rescue charity in Coin, which is where you originally asked for :)

Oooh that's good to know, I'm hoping to be in Torrox by October/November this year :)
