IBI

Postby luckyjim » Fri Jan 16, 2015 2:12 pm

I know that this is a well covered topic but, while watching a well known programme on Channel 4 a couple who lived in Torre Delhi Mar said that their IBI was 8 euros year. Did I hear right?

It could be - when we first bought our house, the IBI was around 15 € a year. Then the Junta sent their little yellow plane round, taking photos, and revised the catastro, and now it's just over 300€

I'm sure theirs will rise in due course....

If it's a log house, it is illegal, so it won't be registered on the catastral as a dwelling.

They will just be paying the IBI on the land. One of our two plots is about 1000m2 (more than enough to host a log cabin) and the IBI is €1.20.

They send planes around here & always have done every spring/summer. My ibi was 23€ when we purchased. When they revalued in 2005 they reduced all building costs/catastral valuations by 30% .
Additionally they reduced the % payable on the amount from 0,75% to 0,67%.so ibi payable reduced by approx. 30% I was then paying 15€ which has now increased each year to nearly 17€!! Thats for 120m2 house as shown on catastral. The land is separate & is classified as "in production " &
" Non-productive" ( outbuildings ) but as the value is below 1200€ no one has to pay.
Then again car tax is 175€/year
