returning to UK

Postby Campo Steve » Sat Jan 23, 2016 9:26 pm

We are going to soon return to UK to live we will be keeping our house in Spain. Is thereanything we have to do to get back into the UK health system. I assume that as soon as we leave we will lose our current health entitlements here i.e our tarjetas will be cancelled and will have to get a UK EHIC
I've got an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one!

Just register at your chosen Doctor/health centre. We were asked for proof of address, utility bills, bank statements etc.

Have you not got your UK issued EHIC as a resident here? If not you can apply by phone and they arrive very quickly>

Due to recent changes in the rules, UK pensioners are entitled to full and immediate cover under the NHS in the UK whether they are residents or not.
