access to carlos hoya hospital from motorway?

Postby gavilan » Tue Mar 15, 2016 5:03 pm

I am getting in a panic! It looks like I will be driving a friend to Carlos Hoya Hospital next Monday ... and that day is the start of Semana Santa celebrations there ... so I am assuming there will be road closures/diversions etc in the city ... so I wont be able to drive my usual route ... does anyone know if you can get access to that hospital from the motorway? ... we would be coming from the north-east ... any help greatly appreciated ...

Where are you coming from ? I have a friend living very close to the hospital in Calle Pedro Espinosa. I'm driving in from Malaga airport direction and it's easy. Have you a GPS ?

They do have a wide range of medical facilities here. This one seems to specialise in traffic injuries, getting the fees back from the car insurance? You should be okay as far as Saint-traipsing is concerned. Nothing is listed for this area, or for near Carlos Haya as it happens, and the main days are Friday and Saturday.
Just as well, as my OH is having surgery on her other shoulder at CHIPs, near Carlos Haya, and we have to be there starved and ready by 9am Monday. This is yet another hospital, a private one that does Health Service work when referred (to keep within waiting time promises), in our case by Hospital Comarcal in Velez-Malaga.

I know the Hospital Quiron very well as I've been there several times in the past. It is very near Los Patios and the Sports Centre. There is Parking in the basement of the building ( not free) but there is plenty of parking in the area. Los Patios is as good as any place to park. The tram station for the Sports Centre is adjacent to the hospital.

The building covers a whole block and is well marked as a hospital. The entrance nearest Los Patios is the one to use for surgery admittance etc. For consultations use the entrance at the other side of the block furthest away from Los Patios. There is a Mercadona at ground level at that side. The entrance hall has a reception desk but it's always very busy. If you know which specialism you need you can take the lifts up to the relevant floor where each has its own reception.

A very impressive private hospital.
