Remedy for removing moss from patio tiles

Postby bernipops3 » Tue May 10, 2016 7:42 pm

Our patio tiles have got really grimy over the winter with moss in the grouting and on the tiles and I would be grateful if anyone could let me know what the best product would be to remove it and where I could get it from.

Many thanks

Powerwash them, no chemicals. A Karcher and a cement mixer are both essential equipment to live in Spain - at least in the campo they are....

Think I'd add an angle grinder to that list, Peter!

Powerwash them,
The only problem with this (and I'm assuming the tiles are clay) is that the power of a Karcher often blasts the surface off them! ....as well as blowing the grout out in places!  ......

....but that's where the angle grinder and mixer then come in

As I said it would with no re grouting to do afterwards. Sometimes the simplest way is best. Jack hammers, trowels, jet washers. Who needs em

To be honest I put some hot water in a bucket and then chucked some bleach in. I used the bleach that you get from Mercadona in a big yellow plastic container if that helps. I also used some of those green scouring pads soaked in the bleach solution to get the worst of it off then wiped it over with a cloth also soaked in the bleach solution. Hard work and it ruined my nails but it cleaned the tiles beautifully.

Hopes this helps.
