Re: election
You could keep a watch here for the results:
http://resultados.elpais.com/elecciones/generales.html
or here:
http://resultados2016.infoelecciones.es/ini99v.htm
for results directly from the Ministry of the Interior.
It will be the early hours of the morning before any results actually start to show.

Re: election
My prediction of early hours for the results was wrong. It looks as though there are results for more than 50% of the seats with PP currently in the lead over PSOE with 133 seats to 93 but with no overall majority. Just like last time, in fact.

Re: election
I seem to be talking to myself here but, just in case anyone is interested, with over 99% of the count PP 137, PSOE 85, Podemos 71, Ciudadanos 32.

Re: election
No you're not Beach. So PP and C not quite enough. But Podemos, PSOE and C could do it. Or PP and PSOE (!)

Re: election
How about a PP/PSOE coalition?
PP have increased their number of seats, PSOE and Ciudadanos have lost seats and Podemos have only two more than last time. Sánchez has now failed to win two elections and I think he will want to avoid further damage to himself and will agree to a coalition with PP which Rajoy has already offered the last time around. Sánchez will not want to go with Podemos because they pose a much greater threat to him than the PP. The Spaniards will never forgive him if he forces yet another election in which, if this one is anything to go by, he will lose even more support.
The body language and undertones from both of them indicate a PP/PSOE coalition which would probably be the best outcome for the country.

Re: election
I always thought that would happen and they have to agree something. But I think Rajoy has to go. An agreement possible without him but not with.
Re: election
there is not much change overall as I thought there would be especially after the referendum in the uk...
Re: election
Watched with intrest last night so is a pp/psoe pact even possible? Are they to far apart interms of beliefs

Re: election
Yes. The PP and the PSOE are ideologically apart but they both do not want Podemos — ever — and they both do not want Spain broken up with independent bits all over the place. In the light of the upheavals coming in the EU, post-Brexit, it may be that they will present their 'union' IF IT COMES ABOUT, as a union of solidarity with the Spanish people in these troubled times. It could be a real winner and very popular.

Re: election
Hopefully if will not come to that. Sánchez will not want another election because if things continue in the same way he would probably lose even more seats next time and may well even be overtaken by Podemos. Sánchez is a demagogic control freak but he is not stupid. He must be well aware that most party leaders who lose two elections in a row would be unceremoniously ousted by their party.
Alfredo Rubalcaba may be a socialist but he is an honourable person and fell on his sword after his defeat in the European elections. If he was still leader of the PSOE there would be no problem. There probably wouldn't even have been any need for a second election.

Re: election
They could but obviously only with the cooperation of the other parties not to oppose any legislation they try to introduce.
I am sure PP and PSOE will come to some kind of understanding if not a full blown coalition. As I said before, going by the current trend, any further election would probably be to the advantage of the PP especially as Rajoy has already made an offer of 'Grand coalition' to the PSOE and he will have been seen to be doing all he can to avoid a third election.
I certainly do not agree with another ADC member that Rajoy should stand down. He is the only one that comes out of this whole debacle with any credit.

Re: election
The scenario I've heard is that PSOE might form a sort of coalition with the PP but will abstain from voting.

Re: election
Would the Public accept that? It seems an unlikely alliance, perhaps the PSOE could ask for Rajoy's head as a concession.

Re: election
I think Sanchez is being heavily advised by his team, including Suzanna Diaz from Andalucia, to 'get on with it'. The public do not want another election and they do expect the politicians to sort things out. The PSOE have lost two elections in a row and have lost ground. I'm surprised Sanchez is still there!
