There worst result was against USA in 1950 as they were amateurs. Iceland are a pro team. We are terrible.

Gutted, however those Icelandic lads had bottle, strength and no Sterling in the team. Respect and good luck against France.

What a disaster!...commenter said it might overshadow everything else that's going on in the uk right now...there are bigger things than football!

Totally pathetic. Compare that miserable performance to the England Rugby team against Australia - pure magic.

Well i think this thread has run its course....there wasn't a great lot of interest and now England is out probably even less....however some who are interested in politics may be interested in the new subject brexit 2 football...England lost in a "football match" it's not the end of the world!

I gave up supporting England decades ago. Prima ballerinas with little talent, no matter who the squad or coach is, and fan loyalty has to be earned. They're even talking of putting Hoddle (back) into the position. The FA have the same ossified mindset as Brussels.

La Liga has for me, always been far more entertaining than the Premier League. Pity that Spain have lost their sparkle. I'm pretty sure it was Sergio Ramos who said the glory days are over. Hope not. It was such entertaining football, but every dog has it's day. Even so, I still reckon it'll still be entertaining football.

Bobby Charlton was asked how he thought the England team of '66 would have fared against Iceland. " I think we'd have won 1-0 " he replied. "Only 1-0?" Said the reporter. "Yes," said Bobby. "Most of us are in our 70's now!"

Enjoy it. This comes round once in a lifetime.
I should know I'm English and support Southampton

Good luck Wales.
