Very hot here....11.00 35 degrees rising to 37 by 3.00. I went shopping at 5.45 and came back exhausted from the still very hot air.

Heading over Wednesday 7th.

Seems much hotter than usual for September in my neck of the woods. September appears to be the new August !

These last two days have exceeded all previous records for September for 14 years. 39.7ºc today. It should cool down a bit for the rest of the week.

Reminds me of the time I spent twelve days in Ireland in August. It only rained twice...

Five days and six days !

It is very hot for September. Today is the first day I have not been able to have lunch or supper on the terrace!

The most unusual thing about the weather at the moment is that the temperature overnight did not drop below 30ºc. Also, there has been almost no wind at all, not even a light breeze. No doubt a very sweaty night for some!

The only positive point is that the humidity has been extremely low.

I agree it seems unusual for September to be so swelteringly hot. It was just under 30 degrees in the house all night long and the bedroom was stifling even though we had two fans on all night long. I had to resort to taking my wet flannel to bed last night and went to sleep with it draped around my neck. It was dry when I woke up in the early hours and I had to go and re-soak it. Not sure if it's good for me but it cools the blood!!

Mrs W there is a solution you know, a recent invention known as Air Conditioning.
I am finding modern units surprisingly economical. My bills are lower than last year, not by much but lower.

Yesterday, at 18.30 I got in the car to go to the village and the car gauge read 53. By the time I got to the village it was a cooler 47. I've never seen the gauge with such a high reading. The heat is bone dry. The campo is bone dry. It's the only thing about Spain that I hate - the Summer. The fear of fire is ever-present ...

We don't like air conditioning and the fan has worked really well so far as it is on the window ledge and draws in (usually) cooler air from outside. When I stay in a house with aircon in the bedroom I cannot have it on all the night as it feels too cold and I have yet to come across a truly silent unit. The fan we have is almost silent and it's ancient .... just hoping it doesn't go wrong as the new ones we have bought are too noisy for my OH who is super-sensitive to any sound, particularly at night. It is due to cool down a bit after tomorrow so I'm sure it won't be a problem for too much longer:)

Some of the weather forecasts sites I was looking at a few days ago said we would be having rain this evening. Doesn't look like it :( But, as you say, Patricia - at least it's cooler!
