Postby daneinspain » Sun Feb 12, 2006 12:51 am

Am looking to buy an apartment and was wondering what amount of money I could live off. What are your living expenses like? If you feel embarassed please PM me an answer.

Please break it down as much as possible, water, electricity, food, taxes e.t.c.

Thanks in advance

if its half the size i´d guess that your living expenses heating rates etc would be around 1/2 as much.. but food etc would all be the same?

Wow - you are cheap to run! What sort of accommodation do you get for 225/month?

Yes but you live in Baza where there's nowhere to spend any money, I think there's a world of difference between Baza and Nueva Andalucia, judging from the places I've looked at around the Marbella area you'd be lucky to rent a lean to garage for that money and you might buy one decent meal, glad I don't have to live in Baza on your budget!!

christ! i might have to move to baza if its that cheap!

hang on.. is it a cave tho? ;)

rents near me are about 600€ / month ..

BUT as he already stated, he´s buying an apartment, so rents wont really count... ;)

Surely food costs will not change just because you are living in an apartment rather than a villa :?

The only noticable diffrerence will be the monthly apartment community charges but on a plus side your electric bills should be lower and less maintenance to pay.

Everyone is different, my bills always seem to be higher than anyones. Nueva Andalucia is one of the most expensive places, a friend pays 339 euros monthly community fees.
My electric bill is around 270 euros for 2months, water 39 euros this 2 months but can be 100 euros in summer. None of it means anything really, its just spend, spend here.

around 40 a month on food,
Sorry, I don't bvelieve that; it is not posible to only spend 40 a month on food, unless you live on a large farm.

safeashouses yer he said his beer was " a little bit more" .. does that mean more than 40? or on top of the 40?

dont forget that katy lives in marbella. i´d imagine she has no gas, so cooks, heats water and rund hot aircon all the time ? thats probably about right really.

lorraine-mijas please tell me that your adsl is like 8mb or something ? its only €78 per 2 months for telefonica 2mb with all local calls included?? (or are you on the new spantel one, €41/month with all european calls included+telefonica line rental ? (that´d be €108 per 2 months)

Answer:
I reckon both - i.e. more than 40 and on top of the food 40.

Isn't electricity the same everywhere then. I reckon Katy's got a heated pool.
