That's amazing Wicksey, a real good price and a great deal.

I think you are right about ovens. I have always thought ours uses a lot of power - and it's one of those stupid ones that still keeps for fan going forever after you have turned the whole lot off. How that be energy efficient is beyond me.
Good luck to you.

The fan that runs on is usually there to cool the control panel, which would otherwise overheat. It isn't usually the more powerful fan that circulates air in the oven itself, if it has one.

The panel cooling fan will use only a tiny amount of power, 10W at the most.

Electric ovens in Spain are normally around 2000W.

If they are a recent eco friendly version, they only use that power for a few minutes to heat up and then they cycle on and off on the thermostat.

Ours will heat to 270c in about 5 minutes and takes about an hour to cool down completely.

They don't use as much as you might think.

It's a Bosch HBG78R9

No longer available, but this is the detail sheet http://www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/p/hbg ... -electric-

It's a really nice oven. Self cleaning and very accurate temperature control, within 1°c.

I know this forum is for andalucia residents and owners and I used to live in the Axarquia so I think I may still comment. We moved to Mallorca last June into a small terraced house in Felanitx. We have electric oven, boiler and two a/c units. I was expecting our electricity bills to be high. In 12 months we had had and accepted 2 offers to change companies and each time the cost per unit has decreased. With our first company Endesa it was 0.44 euros and now it is 0.126 per unit. This looks rather cheap when seeing what is quoted on andalucia.com
This is simply an observation.
