I went to Wembley in 1995. They were amazing. We had a box in hospitality so god knows how much that cost. I would say if the seat is descent and not standing 160 is acceptable. This could easy be there last tour.

Its great work if you can get it, the market dictates price.
To me its now more about the show/the package than the music.
I don't think any of these bands can have the "wow factor" as most are well into their 70s.
I seen quite a few including "stones" in the 80s but it takes real energy.
The last two i seen were Elvis Costello but he is 10 years younger.
I also seen Randy Newman couple of years ago and he is of the
same vintage but his music does not need the "powerhouse effect"
Both were more traditional music shows than what is the norm these days.

When my friend told me how much he'd paid for tickets to see them in 1989, I was astonished.
HIs reply: "But I'll probably never get another chance."

Elton John played the Starlite in Marbella last month, cheapest seats were 182euros......... Ridiculous price. Even the great Santana was less than half that last year.

That's Marbella for you! We saw Elton in 2015 when he came to the Martin Carpena centre in central Malaga and paid 60€

Missed that one.. Nota great fan but would have gone to see him at that price if only to get my live music concert fix. Must have somehow missed all the advertising :lolno: .

Never heard of Martin Carpena centre. Do they have much music there?. The thing we miss most about the UK is that there were plenty of venues near us so we could catch a lot of bands.

It is at the airport end of the Malaga seafront. They have all sorts there. Rick Astley last year.

Is that the huge sports arena by the motorway where Cirque de Soleil performed?

To be fair to the Starlite and their pricing it is much more intimate venue, couple of thousand capacity. I guess performers have a fee for the night and so they divide that by capacity to get per seat price. Hence starlite was way more expensive.

Martin Carpena is on the MA20, from the east it's on your left with a reddish domed roof. It''s just before you cross the river and exit for Leroy Merlin/airport. It's a sports venue but does occasionally hold other events. We have also seen the Cirque du Soleil there which is on most years.

I too miss live music but don't want to travel down to the other end of the coast for a concert, particularly as they are often in the summer when everywhere is very busy, and don't start until about 10pm. We didn't see a lot of advertising for Elton John. I think we heard it on the radio and then had to search for it, but it was kept pretty quiet. I very much enjoyed the live music experience, and he and his band were so professional, it was a really good show. I do miss live shows and the theatre a lot :(

Funnily enough I'm getting an ad on the forum for the Barcelona v Juventus match where prices are going betweem 168 and over 200 Euros.
First top flight match i went to was half a crown between Southampton and Chelsea.

Went to book Carol King story £90 for mediocre seat. Changed my mind as not sure which show to go to. Got to London and got premier seats for £41 from ticket kiosk for Beautiful for the following night

I watched the vid on YouTube. It looked very similar to when I saw them 25 years ago!
