High Interest Bonds

Postby gerrynag » Mon Aug 27, 2018 11:44 am

I keep getting emails from companies, (one in particular), offering me as an expat, fixed interest rates of upto 7% with the interest and capital guaranteed. I keep ignoring the offers as I find the rate offered to be unbelievable. I can not see that they can offer these rates without your capital being at risk. Has anyone else had similar offers ?

I haven't received anything like that but I don't get many unsolicited emails. Presumably you have given your email to someone or some institution that deals in financial services? Like you, I think it seems too good to be true and you know what that means usually!!

I did enquire about their interest rates a while ago, so that's how they got my email. It was the only way you could get further info...though gave them an email address that I don't use much.
Well, they advertise all over the expat press and even on this website. Just wondered if anyone had used them, as claim to be bestbuysavings.
I do agree, if something seems to be to good to be true., then it usually is.

If it was legit the governments would invest in it . So run as fast as your legs will carry you.

Nobody can guarantee 7%, it's not possible unless you invest many millions long term, walk away !

The problem is, as the old adage goes.

There is one born every minute.

There are numerous stories of people being conned out of their pensions with dodgy investments, no matter how often they are told "if it too good to be true" etc.

A timely reminder in DM today. CDS expats conned out of millions by the promise of 2% interest per month

Just read that..one of the investers was a 84yr old who invested £1.5 million, so he could have a more comfortable retirement. Unbelieveable !
