Re: how to buy a used bike in Spain
Thats quite a journey. I would buy something descent for a journey like that. It is easily doable but if you want to enjoy it dont buy a decathlon 69 euro bike.

However a decathlon 400, 700 or 1000euro bikes are the best money can buy. in fact I guarantee the 69euro will be the best around for that price. decathlon are brilliant value for money and their road bikes regularly get praised in bike mags. Buy the most expensive your budget allows and relax, you won't go wrong (imo their customer service has always been brilliant too)costakid wrote:Thats quite a journey. Re: how to buy a used bike in Spain
But original poster wanted a cheap second hand bike not a 1000 euro one.
Re: how to buy a used bike in Spain
they didn't say "cheap" they said second hand. that's quite a trip they've got planned and I personally wouldn't set out on anything less than a well maintained, entry level 'serious' road bike. (they start at about 300euros from Decathlon/Halfords)
Obvs for the same money a better bike will be available second hand, but you may be inheriting some serious issues if you don't know the seller in which case I'd get down decathlon and as I said before buy the most expensive bike you can afford as it will provide vfm - even the 69euros!
