Any ideas on providers and cost wanted.

Not sure if its in your area yet but movistar fibre is lightning quick. The full pack is about 60 euros with TV

How long does it take from ordering it to getting it installed,

Go for Vodafone or ONO but not Movistar. Movistar customer service and billing are rubbish, in my opinion.

I think you will find that Movistar have improved their customer service recently by a huge amount.
I called them last week about connecting us to fibre which they have recently installed up our road in the Campo. They said it should be available in about 3 weeks and gave us a special priority code as we are a returning customer, to take to our local shop to arrange installation as soon as it becomes available. All handled by a nice guy who spoke perfect English and could not have been more helpful.

We have had Vodafone, Movistar, Quantis and now Movistar again. Agree with Sid. They have improved HUGELY since six years ago. Also agree with CostaKid. They are fast and very reasonably priced. We have a 24/7 wi-fi package with a house phone plus free calls on a mobile in Spain plus the TV. We're happy.

We did have Vodafone for several years on a contract and then 'free' to leave whenever we wanted. When we did leave, informing them by phone, e-mail and certificado letter giving three months notice, they sent threatening solicitors and debt collecting agency letters. We had to pay them a whole year extra even though we had left Vodafone and we had done everything more than correctly. They may be fast but they are seriously not good people.
Re: Just bought a villa, now I need the internet
To OP - you do not say whether you are in/close-to a town, or in the countryside. In Huelva province they are rapidly expanding internet via fibre or via local networks, so it worth asking around - find a local computer shop and start asking in there, or your local town hall who may be encouraging it. If fibre is not available in your area, the suggestions above should suit you, and you can usually sign up for a package giving a couple of mobile phones, internet wifi router, and phone line at the house, with various options as to how many gigas etc you want to have available ... check them out as to which suits you. If all else fails and you are not in line-of-sight to the booster beacons for the likes of Vodafone, the local network, etc etc, then look into Satellite options - more expensive, but if all else fails at least you get good speeds ...

Unless you post the location of your new property, none of us will be able make a good recommendation!

We ended our contract with Movistar and they still took money from our bank, after the contract had ended, not good customer service in my book.

All direct debits are 'recallable' in Spain. Just instruct your bank to
(a) return the unauthorised payment to you
(b) cancel all future payment to the offending outfit.
Did this Movistar did similar to us, deliberately dragging their feet over a contract cancellation. The effect was immediate.
Our bank confirmed they got numerous requests to do exactly this.

You’re right . If the OP starts a thread and doesn’t respond to other posts, it’s going to go no further.
