rentacar from malaga airport

Postby Steve&Yvonne » Sun Mar 19, 2006 10:52 pm

Who is the best rentacar company at Malaga airport - mainly in terms of price. Easter week.

Can you get a good deal 'on the spot' rather than booking beforehand

carjet are the cheapest. Ask for a renter other than Crown (who always have massive queues). 100 to 110 euros for the cheapest model for a week, usually

In case you're not a regular visitor, you need to know that carjet are a broker - they don't rent cars. They offer better deals on other renters' cars than you can get by going to the company's web site, or 'on the spot'. If you book with them on line they don't tell you which company is providing the car until you've completed the booking process. However you can ask to change your booking to another provider. We've been very satisfied with Centauro, and they actually provide a 'yellow jacket', as required by law, which some of the others haven't been doing.

Carjet are not always the cheapest now as they no longer do Non-aircon cars at Malaga! We have just booked through www.holidayautos.co.uk for easter as they were £20 cheaper and carjet would not match it. So it still pays to look around.

You also need to weigh up whether you want to prepay a tank of fuel and return empty or just pay for what you use and return full - depends on usage I expect - if you are only doing short mileage full/empty may cost you more. I recently went with Carjet and opted for Crown who do full/full - worth a bit of queueing. There was an extensive thread on this topic a month or so back

I've found that Helle Hollis offer the best prices.

Apart from cost I find a big advantage of carjet is the insurance cover. You don't have to worry about any scratches etc on the car when you collect and likewise on return.

Though you do need to take out seperate insurance locally for tyres/windscreens/locks etc. This price differs between rental companies.
Crown is the cheapest at 10euros per rental regardless how long. Centauro is 15euros, record is 2.95 per day!! Worth bearing in mind when you get booking confirmation if on a long rental. Some friends of ours were with record and it was a hefty add on.

Hi,

I have previously recommended rentacar 3000, based in Arroyo de le Miel, to a number of people and all have been happy with the service they have recvd. Rentacar will meet you at the airport, or deliver to your holiday home for you, whichever you prefer ( though airport pick up is better I feel, cos then you dont have to pay for a taxi as well!!!)
They are a small, but growing, family business, and we have used them, WITHOUT A SINGLE HITCH for 6 years now, and we're normally out there 7-8 times a year, so thats a lot of happy rentals!!!

rentacar3000.com is the website or their tel is 0034 952 577 115

Tell them Angie Peacock recommended you!!

They will help you in any way they can and are much more personal than one of those places at the airport

Good Luck anyway!

Anj
