For those of you who are able to shop at a Carrefour. Can you tell me if they are only open for the sale of food items or can you purchase, clothes, white goods, electronics, bedding etc.

My guess is that they either decided or were told, that they couldn't sell clothing/ footwear as all the shops selling clothes/ footwear in El Ingenio couldn't open.
Everything else they sell in there nobody else sells in El Ingenio or they could open such as Worten, selling white goods/ TVs/ phones, Movistar etc selling phones, Tienda Animal selling pet supplies.
Wortens stopped opening after a short time as they didn't get many customers.
Movistar etc shut for similar reasons although Vodafone are occaisanly open.

OK if you notice SolOptical open could you give me a nod, my hearing aid has failed, right at the start of lockdown !
It is pushing the rules from Torrox to just see. I know they are not allowed yet.

If your area is in phase 1, small shops are now open for clothes and anything else you might want. The larger shops over 400sqm will have to wait a while unless they sell food and tech amonst other things but not clothes.

I wonder who will be willing to buy clothes from a rail that may have had many handlers and been tried on ? I have not given it much thought but will need to buy clothes soon esp. if I cannot go back to UK where I normally spend the summer and where my light dresses and cropped trousers are :-(

Mail order. Even if you receive a return it will have "aged" during the process and be safe.

Carrefour has never been very high on my list of places to shop but it has just fallen off that list completely. Just after lock-down began I ordered some dog food from them which our dogs like and which is not available locally. It was fairly priced and included free delivery.

I recently needed to repeat the order but found that it had increased in price by €4 per bag plus €9 for delivery.. It may only be €21 more but I decided that it would be better in my pocket than theirs so I sought out an alternative and was pleasantly surprised to find the same product on the Corte Inglés web site for the original price with free delivery to my remote rural location by MRW the very next day.

El Corte Inglés 1, Carrefour 0.

Most shops open now. I went for walk to my local indoor shopping centre last night and most shops are now open. Opening times seem to vary.
I was speaking to a young chap in, Massimo Dutti who normally helps me and i was surprised to find out that he had been paid his full salary by the company as had the entire Zaro group.

No matter what people think about Amancio Ortega, at least he did right this time. Pity other billionaires didn't follow his lead.
