Hi there
Does anyone know how you do this?
I think it is through Social Security, but any other details would be gratefully received like what documents you need (plus photocopies, of course!) and how long before the date it is due should you apply?
Many thanks in advance folks
Applying for UK Pension in Spain
Re: Applying for UK Pension in Spain
Are you doing this application because you last worked in Spain?
Re: Applying for UK Pension in Spain
Yes. I have full 35 years in UK and have done a couple in Spain so I have to apply here.
Re: Applying for UK Pension in Spain
Surely hmrc have your Spanish address, you don't have to apply they automatically send you all the info about 3 months before like I have and many others I have seen, when should you be receiving it? is it the old age pension and not civil service?.

Re: Applying for UK Pension in Spain
My understanding is that I have to go to the INSS because I am here and have worked a bit here as well as my 35 years in UK.
The form above does not seem to be the right one to apply from here, I do not think

Re: Applying for UK Pension in Spain
I used this form to apply for my UK pension, 35 qualifying years, and then when it had been granted I applied to the INSS separately for my Spanish pension with 12 qualifying years.
You can apply for your UK pension 4 months before your birthday, but cant apply for the Spanish one before your pensionable age birthday.

Re: Applying for UK Pension in Spain
If you're resident in Spain, you apply for all your worldwide pensions (EU plus bilateral agreement countries) through the Spanish system (INSS).
Whether you've worked here or not doesn't matter.
It's a painless process.

I have been resident for over 20 years and applied for my uk pension first, followed by my Spanish pension. No problem at all.

If you only have a UK pension, UK guidance says you claim from the UK.
If you have two EU pensions, EU guidance says you claim in the country you are living it at the time of the claim.

Re: Applying for UK Pension in Spain
I applied online for my UK pension first, waited until I received it and then applied at the INSS office for the Spanish pension, it worked well and the Spanish pension is backdated to the date that you applied for it.
