Certificate of Permanent Residence/T.I.E
Re: Certificate of Permanent Residence/T.I.E
Exactly what we got, but they didn't take our green cards. Told us they would need them when we go back to pick up the t.i.e cards.

What do you want to do? Apply for residence or change the green card/A4 piece of paper to a TIE?Manchesteral wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 8:58 amHi Poppy what documents did you require exactly, I\m getting conflicting info from various people, thanks !poppy1 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2019 12:19 am Just to follow up.
We successfully obtained our certificates of permanent residence yesterday. It was all very easy. We were called 30minutes after our appointment time and left an hour later with the certificates. It took so long because once having made the application at one of the desks we then had to get another ticket and wait to be seen by the police (who I believe only had one desk there) who issued the certificates.

Just collected my TIE.
Contains all the correct information.
Got there early, hardly anybody there waiting.
Straight in and out with my TIE before my appointment time had arrived.
Cheers

Re: Certificate of Permanent Residence/T.I.E
Thats good to know, all the people I know that have done it have received incorrect cards so far, so good news that they have got it sorted now. Job for this month.
Re: Certificate of Permanent Residence/T.I.E
Firsttango the card should reflect the details in the covering note that you are given when you go to make the application. Did the people you know apply using the EX23 as that is the form especially for the withdrawal agreement so should refer to that on the front and reverse.
My OH was in about 5 mins early and out again in a couple of mins. The new card is very high tech. Just been spotting all the little holograms and engraved picture and musical notes on the front (Beethoven's 9th in case you're wondering, the EU anthem).

Yes they did, but apparently the fault was with the card printers in Madrid who in put wrong info into the machines that manufacture the cards and a great many are WRONGLY WORDED

Re: Certificate of Permanent Residence/T.I.E
My friend in Granada had problems with the finger print machine, and she couldn't collect hers as it wouldn't accept her finger print. So she's had to have a new card made.
Just read the link and that's what my OHs card says at the bottom, residence card of a family member of a union citizen. I didn't realise it was incorrect. His states the type of permit is permanent under Art 50 TUE plus mentions Art 18.4 of the withdrawal agreement on the back. The article seems to say it's not a problem.

So, my newly acquired card is wrong.
Mine has got “family member of a Union citizen” at the bottom.
However, the expiry date is correct, 2030.
Cheers

Below from another Forum
The TIE.
Whether or not you have ticked the correct boxes on the TIE, it appears to make no difference. Many have been provided with a TIE that does not match their status. Being told not to worry they are still valid is not acceptable and you do not know what happens further down the line when you present your cards for various reasons. I think by now we should all be used to that one.
Those of you who have not been provided with the correct TIE, please contact the British Embassy or we can on your behalf.
UPDATE. The Embassy are waiting for instructions on the option to change these card for the correct version.
We hear a plethora of excuses being given and it is not acceptable. You should all be in possession of the right card for your status.
We do not accept the excuses given. A printer will only print from the instructions programmed into it, It cannot make mistakes but humans can.

Re: Certificate of Permanent Residence/T.I.E
I did mine at the end of July and the odd thing is mine seems to be correct. It says under type of card PERMANANTE ARTICULO 50 TUES.
Re: Certificate of Permanent Residence/T.I.E
It's the writing at the bottom of the front of the card Mark. My Oh's one is correct as a permanente under Art 50 TUE and also on the reverse it mentions the withdrawal agreement, but at the bottom it states it's a "Tarjeta residencia de familiar de un ciudadano de la Union" which is apparently the incorrect bit. We're not too worried about it.
Re: Certificate of Permanent Residence/T.I.E
Picking ours up on the 28th. Read somewhere that if we refuse to accept it (due to the wrong wording) they will return it and a new one would be issued muy pronto....anyone done this?
Re: Certificate of Permanent Residence/T.I.E
Both mine and my wife's card have the wrong wording.
I believe the Spanish authorities are aware that the wording is wrong but they say the cards are acceptable and are valid.
So we shall carry on using them.
They might be replaced sometime in the future but as long as the wrong ones are accepted then we aren't bothered.
Cheers

Re: Certificate of Permanent Residence/T.I.E
As it was so difficult to get the appointment to collect ours, I am sticking with whatever I get today, as long as the date is correct and it's permanent. The thought of trying to get another appointment to collect a corrected card, which will probably not be until November now, fills me with dread

This thread is making me feel superior that I followed my normal mantra - wait until things are tried and tested, and only change when you have to.

But if everybody followed your normal mantra, the system would never get tried and tested.

Re: Certificate of Permanent Residence/T.I.E
I would rather have my new ID card even though there's a small error in the wording. It's just a matter of choice and we wanted to do ours sooner rather than later. If they suddenly say all Brits have to change to the TIE I expect there would be similar problems in trying to get the appointments. I actually had quite a wait today. The girl in front of me in the police station with what looked like her application forms seemed to have been told she had to go to Malaga. Perhaps they are making people go to their local station after all.
