We went to a function at the Miramar in sept 2019 on the terrace. Lovely up there at night although maybe a bit fresh in December but they have blankets although they may not be able to use them with covid. Hopefully some good heaters for you Pamela.Pamela1 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 7:36 pm As far as hotels go Katy, spoilt for choice, especially on price..there are enough hotels open..staying in Hotel Miramar, thought we would treat ourselves considering the rate we got was the same rate as other 4/5* hotels this time last year..The hotel is usually double the price.
Awful about your friend, we never know what is around the corner..true what they say, live for today and worry less about tomorrow..

for your areaGilbertGrump wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2020 4:49 pm We were looking at moving to our Spanish home permanently in January and selling our UK house ....to ride out the inevitable housing crash that's going to occur in my opinion ...next year in uk. It cant carry on the eay things are. If we have an independent income and our own home there already do you think the movement rules will mean we still cannot travel. Even though this will be our only home?
You will have to obtain residencia first and obey the travel rules for your area, same as everyone else. In the Canaries where I live we are fortunate to be able to move around from Island to Island without restrictions and of course area to area within the Islands !
Re: Covid Restrictions Andalucia
Bars etc can stay open between 18.00-20.00 now but they cant serve alcohol
Re: Covid Restrictions Andalucia

Yeah its Cafes offically on the posters.. they were released early today. Last night they just made a general statement. Hostelaria is the same as before ie shut at 6 reopen at 8. I tend to call them all one and the same. A spanish cafe isnt a uk one its a restaurant. A guessing game to see whats open inbetween 6-8. Doesnt really make much difference to me. Glad the provinces are still going to be open as might try to get away over xmas.

What is allowed to open is defined bt tax laws. In tax law there are codes for economic activity and if the licence of the cafetería satisfies those codes then they can stay open. Codes are 672, 674.6 and 676.

Owners of a restaurant in Torrox have been arrested for making staff continue to work with Covid!

I cant find that story in any local press. Where did you read that Katy?
Re: Covid Restrictions Andalucia
We go there alot
Re: Covid Restrictions Andalucia
There's articles in the English papers here but they did not mention the name of the restaurant. Really you would have thought they should do in case you'd been there recently. Thankfully it's not somewhere I've ever been.
Re: Covid Restrictions Andalucia
I think it is/was ok outside, inside, where we tried and walked out, it was a bit noisey. Before we lived here I think.
Re: Covid Restrictions Andalucia
They do great tapas. 1 euro each and three will do you for the whole day. Main meals are just as good and big and ridiculously cheap. Dont let the covid put you off seriously they are always incredibly popular especially with germans over the winter but like all places we have never seen it so dead. Really nice waiters.hope its not any of the ones we know. Not surprised at the illegal actions of the owners though sadly typical of here. Hope they get whats coming to them.

Re: Covid Restrictions Andalucia
Are you sure it is not just a staff holiday? They did seem to have the odd closed weeks when we lived down there, and were always busy when open. It was my retreat for a cafe con leche and a tostado y tomate while my OH was in the local health centre having physio.spanish_lad wrote: ↑Wed Dec 23, 2020 10:18 am Has anyone seen that las yucas on the high street in torre del mar has closed down? I had noticed that Las Yucas was closed, but assumed they'd perhaps closed down for the winter months because with the absence of tourists trade is likely to be slack. They stayed closed for a few weeks when bars and cafes were allowed to open after the lockdown, but did open up again eventually.
