Neither of us were asked for any proof of identity. They call your name. That could be different in another locality. This was at the local health centre. If you go to one of these mass vaccination centres in a stadium it might be different. Something with your NIE on it should do if you don’t have a health card.

Further to my earlier post we had our 1st jabs this morning, no problems without having a public health card and were told our 2nd dose will be on 8th July.

Great News.

May I ask what age group you are in and which vaccine they gave you?

That's good, I'm glad the system for registering those who only have private health insurance temporarily so that they can get vaccinated seems to be working well.

Went to my Health Centre for the jab today. Very well organised, in and out in a few minutes, 15 minutes sit then back home with second vaccination on the 7th. 73 age bracket. Pfizer vaccine.

No worries, we have all been guilty of the same thing at one time or another. :)

Two pieces of good news from the Spanish government propaganda mouthpiece:

The government is going to delay giving the second injection so that they can give everyone the first dose more quickly.

Telediario also states that Sanidad is considering replacing AstraZeneca with Pfizer for the second dose!

What could possibly go wrong?

Central government is considering it but I assume it will be down to each individual region to decide how they administer it. If you already have your second jab booked with date and time, I doubt that they will change that - it would be chaos if they do.

There seems to be plenty of evidence (propaganda if you insist) that a very high percentage of the ultimate protection exists after one dose. Clearly this approach gives the best overall coverage in the short term.

There seems to be conflicting views on that even between WHO, CDC and EMA but they keep on changing their stances so I have lost track of who agrees or disagrees with whom.
