Time for a forum upgrade?

Postby Lavanda » Thu Dec 26, 2024 9:29 am

It’s obvious the forum has fewer and fewer active members these days. Maybe the forum needs an upgrade? If we could post informative and relevant images this might bring some extra information to the forum. For example, in the gardening section it would be helpful to see what a poster is worried about with a sick plant. Food, motoring, construction problems, etc. Just a thought …

Hi Gordon, I hope you are having a nice festive season. A few photos from you regarding your museum would be excellent. Hope all is going well with it.

You are already able to post images on the forum - no upgrade required.

Non-technical Instructions please. No one ever posts photos so I can’t be the only one who does not understand how to do it - or even knew we could.

You normally do it using a third-party site. You upload the photo to the site, and it creates a link that you paste into your post. I use postimages.org. You set up your account, and it's very easy to upload the images to their server. They create a number of links for you; I use the "Hotlink for forums" option. You copy the link and paste it into your forum post. The easiest way to upload your photo is to drag and drop the image from your photo album directly onto the Postimages page.

Great! Now we can look forward to loads of pictures of your house and surroundings. Remember to use the Amigos Lounge if you post any personal photos

No. I was thinking more of something useful for the travel section - Cadiz, Barbate, Seville. etc.

Great idea Sid, it will be nice to see where people live when they are refering to the weather conditions, being stuck up a hill or just to have more insight to their posts when they are talking about their homes and surroundings.Certainly makes things more interesting Forgot to add, anyone got any home improvement pics, or some lovely garden pics, perhaps their pets etc.. the subject is endless.
