According to my records, this January, the minimum temperatures are exactly the same as last January.

I remember when winter used to start in early November, and we often had a lot of snow on the mountains, especially Maroma. I have photos of it coming way down towards the coast (it did settle on the beach once as well). We have had temperatures down to 1.5 degrees overnight and frost, and we are fairly close to the coast. In recent years it's seemed very mild in comparison.

It's been very cold at nights this month, but according to my diary it was similar last year. It's been hot in the sun, although this week there's a bitter wind (not that stops the tourists being dressed for summer and swimming in the sea this week   ).

Weather here was rather warm last weekend but has turned really cold this week.

I wish we had weather forecasts we could rely on more than a day or two in advance! After the AEMET forecasts saying for several days there would be rain every day this week, we scrambled to get 3 loads of washing done and dried outside yesterday. This morning, the forecast for the week says rain later today but little probability for the rest of the week.

Hi Free at Last,
"we scrambled to get 3 loads of washing done" ........look on the bright side you would have used Off-Peak electricity (subject to being on the right Tarfias) .

:)
All my best learning experiences start with a problem I need to solve.

We're not on that kind of tariff, I can't be bothered to be ruled by off peak electricity hours to be honest. Knowing my luck, if I did have one of those tariffs it would pour down with rain all weekend and be dry during the week!

Wicksey has commented that the weather differs from valley to valley ... and so often we have had rain forecast for here... but it has missed us!

We have rain forecasted all week and certainly had lots all day yesterday and it’s still raining now.

eltiempo.es

The forecast is updated several times a day but is rarely wrong.

Still raining here - and lots of it - BUT it normally rains this time of year! There is another eight days of rain forecast so it’s a bit boring now.

Some rain here but as usual nowhere near enough.

Our nearby huge pantano - Iznajar is only 24% full. Normally it would be 50% on this date. I am afraid it doesn’t bode well ( again) .Water is low due to increasing widespread irrigation so less water in and more communities added to the pantano ( Mollina and Fuente de Piedra) so more water out.

I also read that something like 299 suspected illegal wells for massive mango/avocado fincas were investigated and 249 found to be illegal. No prosecutions however as no resource to bring to justice………..
