World Cup Football
Hey,
Does anyone know if it's possible to watch the World Cup football games online?
The BBC are doing a live stream but only if you're located in the UK
Apparently in the US there is a TV company streaming the games to try to promote football more there, but that's only the US
I have a TV but the reception isn't great and I hardly watch it - I wouldn't know where to look to see if any of the games will be on.
Of course I know of an Irish bar that is playing all the games, but it's too far to get to
Any ideas?
(and can we skip the 'why would you want to watch football' comments!)
Thanks!

The Spain games are live on free spanish TV channel quatro.
The England games are on chanel +, plus some others.
Most of the other games are on sexto a new channel which is also a pay channel (i think) I cant get it on my TV.
I ve tried the BBC website and also eurosport no luck. The BBc site adds that due to the global TV rights etc.....

There is some hoo-haa from the Beeb that goes something like this:
BBC is funded by the TV licence so only those who pay the licence should watch the BBC online matches.
They say that the detection vans are out and checking - can they detect this? I don't know.
So there may be some method of stopping the streaming to overseas, again, I don't know how. the more techy ones will tho!

Here you are, ladies and gents. Download this http://www.tvunetworks.com/downloads/index.htm and enjoy the World Cup courtesy of ESPN2. When you have the TVU player working, double click ESPN2 in the list of channels on the left hand side.
It will initially need unzipping, so if you haven't got it already here's the free download of Winzip http://www.download.com/3000-2250-10003164.html and you can use the free evaluation to do this. Just follow the instructions, ie open, run, install etc.
When the player opens up it is a bit iffy for the first minute but then settles down and it's a nice big screen, perfect audio and all in all the best live streaming programme I've used. You owe me a drink!
