• Food bought at airport.
• Handbags.
• All electrical and battery-powered items, including laptop computers, mobile phones and iPods.
• Electric key fobs.
• Wheelchairs, except those provided by airport.
Items permitted in cabin, carried in clear plastic bag:
• Pocket-size wallets and purses containing money, ID and credit cards.
• Passports and tickets.
• Prescription medicine and medical items.
• Glasses and sunglasses, but not cases.
• Contact lens holders, but not lens solution.
• Baby formula and milk, but contents of each bottle must be tasted by passenger.
• Diapers, wipes, creams for infants.
• Tampons, sanitary napkins and tissues, but not boxes.

If there were yesterday, there don't seem to be today!
I flew from Paris to London Heathrow this morning and there appeared to be no additional restrictions on what people could take in their hand luggage. Passengers were boarding with phones, blackberries, bottles of water and even rucksacks. There was an enhanced security presence in and around the aircraft, but that was all.
Someone phoned Radio 5 Live today to say that his girlfriend was flying from Alicante to London today and had been allowed to keep all her belongings including phone and blackberry.
Restrictions on flights out of the UK are still as they were yesterday, but on the strength of the above, there appear to be few restrictions on inbound flights.

Hi
Just flown in from Heathrow to Gibraltar, Heathrow is still a nightmare. Got there at 4am this morning for a 6.50am flight, could not get into the terminal until 9am and eventually took off at 11am. They are not allowing anything apart from whats on the list, and that MUST be in the clear bags they are handing out, security is very tight and takes some time to get through.
As far as flying into the UK, as far as I am aware they are very strict if you are making an onward connection, and you will be searched again, but I don't think all flights from all country's are going to the same lengths as the UK operators.
Just be repaired for major delays as the whole system is jammed up!!

Downgrade info
The threat level has now been downgraded from critical to severe.
There will be a joint UK/US annoucement Monday (14/8) at 0730 BST.
"The change in the threat level means the ban on taking hand luggage on to flights from the UK has been lifted, although some restrictions remain. "
( thanks to the BBC website )

Someone from BAA has just been interviewed on Radio 4 and says that the easing of the restriction on hand baggage at their airports will not be implemented until tomorrow morning because they cannot guarantee to be able to make sure that all of their security staff know.
If we know here in Spain how come security staff actually working at the airports don't?
