thanks flan_taster ... so easy and obvious when you know how! I was looking under junta de andalucia and could find nothing ... but I was surprised to see 'medieval water cistern' listed in canillas de aceituno ... visited this last week and it had a 'se vende' notice on it!

nevada smith ... perhaps you are the one to really help me ... I am looking for details about the Meseta de Mazmullar which was designated a national monument in 1931 .. I was hoping to find out what was in that place at that time which caused the authorities to mark it out as a national monument then .. I was hoping to track down the original declaration ... over to you ...

gavilan,

i doubt i'm the one to really help you -
(my post was merely a 'potshot' at zanuck for his
problem with my suggestions to the occasional google)

seems your query has also grown from something very general to
something more specific and
based on your postings and varied interests
(we first crossed paths over 'las migueletes' i believe)
i assume that you already know that
meseta de mazmullar is the remains of streets, houses and a reservoir
that comprised a ninth century arabian settlement -

where one would find the original declaration, i haven't the faintest,
but i'm usually drawn to large municipal or university libraries...

nevada smith ... yes i do know quite a bit about mazmullar but did not know it was a national monument until i stumbled across that info somewhere recently ... thats when i started trying to find a list of national monuments etc ... i was hoping for some guidance/shortcut thro the labyrinth of books, jounals, libraries, websites etc ... by the way the aljibe arabe in Canillas was not on the map the Town Hall gave me, neither was it marked as a monumento nacionale when I eventually found it ... and that list about malaga province monuments is pathetic when you know what gems there are around here!
