Staying or going?

Postby katy » Wed Dec 13, 2006 10:36 am

What is everyone doing for christmas are you staying in Spain or going to the UK (or some exotic place)?

We are staying here, family arriving this weekend. Nothing ready, still lots of shopping to do. Cleaner is off with a frozen shoulder (according to hubby, but his spanish isn't great) Have to go out this morning to buy new washing machine as mine is kaput and I don't have time to get it repaired. Friends out for New Year and then I'm out of here...for a while anyway :D

We were really looking forward to having Christmas in our new house but we're still waiting for it to be finished - contract date of 13th August 2006 has long gone! We don't think we'll be in now until end January/February. The trouble is we only expected to have our stuff in store for 6 months and brought the minimum of winter clothing with us. To make matters worse, the Christmas tree & decorations at in store and my daughter & husband are working over Christmas so they won't be coming here nor will we be spending a hot Christmas in Bahrain with them.

Just have to open some of the masses of bottles we've accumulated and make the most of it.
Since I gave up hope I feel much better!

We were once inbetween houses at this time of the year, almost everything in storage as we were only staying in rented place for a week..problems with paperwork (long story) so we had to stay 6 weeks. Husband was on first name terms with everyone at the storage depot as he kept fetching things every day. Shukran at least you have a new home to look forward to, won't be long :)

Just got from the UK last weekend - freezing cold, horrendous traffic and hoards of shoppers

So..... xmas in the campo, on our own xmas eve, xmas day with family and then plenty of sleep before the 31st, with breakfast the following morning in the local bar !!!

All very relaxed shopping here! Patricularly Sunday morning in el corte.
Leaving for the UK on 23rd and will be staying long enough to do the sales for a couple of days then back again. I imagine the sales crowds will be far worse than the xmas shoppers
Hope its warmed up over there for me.

Staying here in Canada for Christmas and New Year. Then to Florida for 3 months. Would prefer Cds, but circumstances will not allow.
