I'm amazed that some people are unable to accept that others are able to live cheaper than themselves...It really is difficult to give a comprehensive and detailed account how to live cheaply here, everyone's needs are different, but believe me I know many expats who do really live on a low budget, even on the coast....My Wife is a thrifty Yorkshire Lass, but she is certainly not mean with her spending, and she really does manage well on our personal budget of 650 euros per month, and we live well....We could spend a lot more, but why should we ?
Anyway I think it's time that we moved on to another subject.....

Anyone interested in OXO'S....?

I don't give a toss what other people spend or earn. But Heston, you just proved my point. If you bought 4 new tyres @ €65 you blew over half that months budget. What did you eat the rest of that month, rubber scrapings? For your sake, I hope the next 6 months are as uneventful. If you ever run short, you could always start exporting inland products to the coast. Seems like there's a fortune waiting to be made.

Still don't believe it.

How do you know Heston hasn't got a million Euros in the bank  She's never said as far as I can see that it's 500euros and anything more is a disaster :?

I don't think she means that the tyres came out of the 500 euro set-aside, well that's how I'm reading it.

As stated everyone has different thoughts on how much is enough.........Bill Gates probably pitties Richard Branson for only living on £2.8million per month.......it's all relative.

Quite agree Kenny.
As I said, I'm not interested in what people earn, have or spend, but my earlier post pointed out that other people are reading these discussions in the hope of gleaning some useful, sensible advice and info on moving to /living in Andalucia. That I think is the whole purpose of this site. I think we should bear that in mind when posting. I therefore felt that it was important to determine how people are defining "living costs". I would never recommend someone to move over here if they believed that they could survive 6 months on €3000, covering all eventualities.

BTW Kenny, my team's better than yours!

Miro, understand exactly what you're saying. My point is just that the 500 e figure which has stirred up a debate is not being taken by me as a literal gods honest figure for everything with no back up of reserves.................That's how I read it anyway, but it's none of my business anyway whether I'm right or wrong.

Kenny

PS Which team is yours then  .......Marine?

Well I think we've sorted that out then. End of.....

Who's Marine? I was talking about the lads who sent Barca packing.

You can fool some of the people some of the time
You can fool some of the people all of the time
But you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.
Was this written by a Yorkshireman? it sounds as though it was.

Another one
I've been poor and I have been rich and rich is best.

At the end of the day people will only believe what they want to believe, tell them the streets are paved with gold in andalucia and no one should deny it. So long suckers.
